Weight Loss Stories: Nice to Lose You!

So sweet and beautiful to turn heads and attract attention from the men on the street! So nice and convenient to be in a good shape as you used to be when you were younger. I sighed. A 35-year old with a husband and two children. What’s more, a 35-year old with 150lbs of weight. I sighed again. My life is over.

Usually the feeling of guilt and remorse went upon me after the lunch, consisting of burgers and Cola. The feeling came back again after the dinner with my family. To be honest, my husband is also a bit robust with 250lbs of weight. But I’m a woman, I’m still very young and want to be liked, said I to myself one morning. That was the beginning of my family drama.

First of all I went to a newspaper stand and bought myself a magazine. It was sort of thing full of advice for female with complexes like mine. Surely, there were a couple of ‘just in case’ diets in it. I turned to one of them immediately.

The first day all went okay. I replaced burger and Cola with an apple and orange juice or something like that and decided to replace the usual dinner with yogurts and eggs. And couldn’t understand why my husband and kids stared at me like that. When we finished with all those healthy things, my husband asked what had happened with me. Global catastrophe, all the stores are closed for fixing and our fridge is empty? No, we are turning to a diet and gonna be on it for a couple of weeks, I replied. His reaction killed me. If you are going crazy, he said, do that alone and serve us normal tasty dinner every day.

I thought it would be not that hard to make them dinner and eat yogurts instead of meat and pasta. I was wrong. It was VERY hard, almost like hell. In two weeks I lost 6lbs and went extremely nervous. My hands were shaking when I took off of it. Naturally, I ate half of my fridge the first day of being off and regained the same thing in two days. And what does it mean 6lbs when I had to lose at least 20!

The next diet seemed to be more fruitful. But turned to peptic ulcer. Gush, I was going mad. I became a diet-addict! My husband couldn’t stand it. One day he took me to a doctor and asked him to help me. Doctor said there can be a remedy for people like me. He prescribed me Xenical with a special light diet for me.

In about a year of being on it I lost about 15lbs. And that is a good thing to know because I’m gonna be on it another six months and lose at least 5lbs.

What’s really good to hear is that my husband decided to take to this thing as well. I’m happy as I don’t have to serve those ‘heavy’ things I used to serve. And now the whole my family eats healthier and better food. Nice to lose you, lbs!

Liz, 35
