Once our editor received a letter from a young woman. It contained a story about her husband and their acquaintance. I decided to type this story as an example for fat people how to overcome their inferiority complex. Maybe it'll help somebody. Here it goes.

Even being a child, Peter was rather plump and stood out of other children of his age. Certainly, he liked to eat as most children do, but not all of them are so fat at 8! The thing was that the boy was brought up by his grandmother, who could bake excellently, as most grandmothers. Therefore, the boy couldn't help eating sweet pies, cakes, donuts, tarts and so on every day, because his refusal would distress his grandmother. Besides, everything was so tasty!

Well, he ate and gained weight at the same time. Once Peter complained to his granny about other guys teasing him. Granny sat down in front of him and said: “Remember, my child, you have a normal body, normal weight and a normal figure. Others are just too thin. They envy you and that's why they tease you. Don't you ever forget my words - your physique is normal! Now go to the kitchen: I've baked your favorite tarts!" The boy really believed his grandmother.

So, there he was: a 30-year-old man, not just plump but terribly fat! However, granny's preaching wasn't useless - he still thought (and still does) that his was quite normal... well, maybe just a little bit chubby. But all those bony guys were married already or at least ware going to be. And our fellow, for the unknown reason, still couldn't even kiss properly! Therefore, every day, after work he spent all his time sitting in internet chats, making acquaintance with different girls and trying to find the only love.

Fortunately, Peter was a very interesting interlocutor and soon he got a lot of on-line friends, among which there was a special one - Jane. They could talk for hours without paying attention to anything. From the very beginning she offered him not to send photos of each other, because the appearance wasn't really important for her. It suited Peter perfectly. Once he asked her how she looked: "A tall, shapely brunette of 28" - came the answer. "I'm tall, dark-haired, well-built... maybe just a little bit chubby" - wrote Peter truthfully.

A month later Peter plucked up all his courage and invited Jane for a date. Though they never met each other, it seemed like they were in love and were ready for this date.

At 8 p.m. Jane, wearing her best dress, was standing at the fixed place and staring at every man passing her by, trying to find Peter. At one moment, she turned back and saw a crowd of men approaching her: "One of them is definitely Peter! ...this one is too old, that one is too short...Wow! That fatso is definitely not Peter!" - thought Jane and turned away.

What a great surprise it was for her when the very fatso came up to her and asked shyly: "Jane?" Jane couldn't believe her eyes - is this her Peter!? But it was too late to recede and she had to say “yes”. It would be very impolitely to reverse the date at that moment, so she had to go with "this big man" to the cafe.

After the first date, there came the second one, then another one, then one more date... And finally, all those dates turned into a great, happy wedding!"

The thing is that Jane had fallen in love with Peter before she met him. So, when they did meet (she was shocked at first, of course, but…) it didn't really matter then how he looked. Therefore, internet is not the worst place to look for friends and lovers (especially for overweight people or those with some other physical drawbacks). Sometimes it works, as you can see!
