If you had a choice between beauty and brain, what would you choose? Would you choose a perfect man with dark brown eyes and deep voice or would you be happier with someone who is brilliant and you could talk for hours about unexplored planets and recent Noble Prize winners? Thats what Im thinking about right now I made myself unhappy because I paid too much attention to eyes and voice and ignored all the other things.
It may sound weird but all my boy-friends were either brainless but handsome or average-looking but smart. And the most disgusting thing about that all is that they always made me choose. I never met a single one who would say: Okay, let it be just as it is No, they usually used to say: Me, or your other friends! Gush!
One of them eventually made me unhappy. He was quite selfish, but so handsome that I couldnt resist. He was like an ancient god. He had gorgeous body and tasty face. All my friends would kill to get a boy-friend like that. But what was inside was pretty much like disgusting. But I got to know that when it was too late.
When I met him we were both teaching in one of those shabby schools that young teachers start from: full of outcasts and crazy youngsters. All the senior girls were mad about George, but he seemed to never care about that. I was a math teacher with thick glasses and long legs. Whats more, I was nearly engaged to a very bright math teacher that I met back in college and used to spend hours talking about everything in the world. He wasnt that much handsome, more than average and might seem a typical bore, but we usually never like things that seem too simple for understanding. That was my mistake. I was seduced by the attractive one. We had a party, got drunk and spent a night together. The next day my boy-friend said I had to choose and I chose George.
Silly girl! If only I could turn back time! I would beg my boy-friend to forgive me and go on with our relationship. But between brain and beauty my heart chose the latter.
We soon got married with George because I got pregnant, but marriage didnt give me any pleasure on all levels, including sexual. He didnt want me as soon as I became his wife and cheated me with various girls around and even didnt bother to do it secretly.
That was going on until he got fired and all went wrong. We couldnt understand each other at all, used to fight fiercely, he got stress, I got nervous breakdown, we almost didnt sleep together, tried to avoid eye contact, he got sexual problems as well, not really impotence, but something of the kind, so his young girl-friends left him. We were falling apart slowly losing all that we had between us.
One day I got sick of what we had and we divorced. It was certainly not good for our kids, but better for us.
Weve been separated for a couple years already and I feel a real relief. I meet with men; he finally went to a doctor and got an idea of curing his ED thing. Hes taking pills and feels better. And we finally made real good friends.
