To lighten the characterization of individuals and everything around people began to divide all to types. Human skin is no exception so was exposed to a huge number of divisions. And though practically the list simply can include only three main types (dry, oil and normal) some authors add combination, sensitive, mature, acne or ailing types.
In fact all of typologies are very relative because the condition of the skin greatly depends on numerous factors like environment, occupation, weather, gene pool, lifestyle, pregnancy, used cosmetics, consumed chemicals and diet of course.
Well stop on the most common classification which includes five major types. The description of each will help with determination and further care of your skin.
Normal skin is soft, plump, elastic, smooth and firm to the touch, with small to medium pores. Usually young healthy people have this type of skin. Normal skin needs light cleaning twice a day with mild soap, night application of home-made moisturizer and nondrying mask once per two weeks for better blood circulation. Essential oils of lavender, chamomile, geranium, lemon, rose and sandalwood give the best fit.
Oily skin can be characterized by shiny look, large and visible pores, and dull color. This type of skin has more of a tendency toward pimples, blackheads and whiteheads with oily complexion. All these are results of hyperactivity of sebaceous glands, which produce more oil than is needed. Use of birth control pills, unsuitable cosmetics and other factors can upset the oil balance that will result in oily skin. It needs more delicate care using bergamot, cedar wood, cypress, frankincense, geranium, juniper and sage.
Dry skin usually is flaking off and chaps, feels tight on face, looks transparent, fragile and patchy. The cause is that it lacks both sebum and moisture. Its more peculiar to older people and for regeneration needs healthy diet (especially lots of fruits and vegetables), 7-8 glasses of water, 8 hours of sleep and exposure to fresh air.

The neighborhood of dry and oily skin on one face as a usual is called combination skin. Oily T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and cheeks + area around the eyes need separate care according to written above.
The last type which usually is marked out is sensitive skin. Actually each of mentioned types could claim to a high name sensitive and call for special care. It burns more easily in the sun, appears to be more easily irritated and shows more sensitivity for cosmetics applied. It could be simply distinguished by broken veins and flushed or reddened look.
Whichever skin you have major harms for it are the same. To keep your skin young, fresh and clean avoid smoking, alcohol, excessive pulling on the skin, abusive cleansing, weight loss/gain, dry and polluted air and bright direct sunlight.
