Some people say that beauty will save the world. So far the world is OK. That means that beauty succeeds in doing its job. But what or who and where is that beauty? I am positive that women are the embodiment of it. By the way, due to the statement of the majority of men, they are the clever part of the mankind and women are the beautiful one. I am sure that the first part also succeeds in achieving its goals: look at all the political games, wars and violence! Good work, guys!
Taking into account all the above said, beauty must be stronger to save the world. There exist a lot of ways and products to make it mightier. Vaniqa (eflornithine), a prescription cream which slows down hair growth, is one of the means, helping women, suffering from the excessive facial hair, become more beautiful.
It was made by Bristol-Myers Squibb in a partnership with Gillette, though now it is a separate company called Women First Healthcare. Vaniqa is available since July 31, 2000.
The main component of Vaniqa is eflornithine hydrochloride. It inhibits an enzyme, called ornithine decarboxylase (ODC), which affects hair growth. Therefore, this cream is not a depilatory; it only helps reduce hair growth. That means Vaniqa is used alongside with the main removal method (shaving, plucking, etc.).
Since this is a prescription cream, a patient must always consult a doctor before starting to use it. The dosage and frequency of applying Vaniqa onto the facial skin and nearby areas under the chin (only) may differ with every individual. Usually women cover them in five minutes after hair removal with the main method. The next procedure must be done not sooner than within 8 hours.
The results may be observed only in two months. If you cannot notice the improvement, you should consult your doctor. Amazingly, 42% of the clinical trials participants did not improve their appearance. The reason is not known. Nevertheless, 58% were satisfied with hair reduction during the studies.
The most common side effects the patients report of are: acne, follicle irritation, skin itching or dryness and stinging skin. Chapped, red lips; hair bumps; numbness; rash; reddening, burning or bleeding of skin; swelling of lips; contact dermatitis; herpes; rosacea are very rare. Usually patients confirm that all the side effects subside with the lapse of time, when skin gets used to the cream.
In order to avoid trouble, a woman must report a doctor about any allergic reactions to the Vaniqa cream components or to any other substances or topical medications. It is not recommended to use this medication during the pregnancy or breast feeding as the influence on the babies organisms are not known. The children under 12 did not take part in the clinical studies of Vaniqa, therefore, they should not use this cream either. Severe acne and broken chin are also serious obstacles for using this medication.
It is necessary to remember that Vaniqa was made exclusively for women and had not been tested on men. Its interaction with the other topical medications is not studied yet.
Now that you know the objective information about this method of excessive hair fighting, you can weigh all its prospects and disadvantages. Choose Vaniqa and become stronger to save the world.
