Humans are unpredictable. They are controversial. They say one thing and do the opposite. They give promises and never keep to their words. They determine the ideal of something and then love absolutely different thing! Humans are weird.
Everyone agrees that soul is what really matters. Everyone loves a beautiful body. Strange though it may seem, we have to accept it. There is no way out; this is our reality.
Someone sometime made a fairytale in which a hairy body was treated as something unpleasant, ugly, terrible. We all believed the tale. What can we do now? Lets get rid of excessive hair!
There exists a great variety of hair removal methods. Let us compare two of them.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal have much in common. Both are said to be extremely effective, quite expensive, tend to have permanent results, and can be applied to almost any area of the body. They destroy a follicle of a hair that is in the active growth cycle. The sleeping hairs can be treated only after they wake up. Therefore, several sessions are needed.
Electrolysis kills one follicle at a time with electric current, which runs through a fine steel needle (thoroughly sterilized if an electrologist is highly professional and sticks to the sanitarian norms) inserted into the follicle. Since every single hair is damaged individually, the process will require much time: even a chin or cheeks may be treated up to 10 months. If an area is larger, the removal will last for years.
The beam of the laser is wide enough to destroy many hairs at once; therefore, cheeks will be spick and span in 15 minutes! A fracture of a second the laser is on makes the procedure safe. At the same time it is long enough to ruin melanin the main component of hair. The difficulties arise with colored skin which contains great amount of melanin (therefore it can be harmed) and fair hair with little melanin, since the laser has almost nothing to destroy.
Patients after laser hair removal report about mildly uncomfortable feeling but not pain. Electrolysis is considered to be painful, though due to the different degree of pain tolerance, the impressions of many people greatly vary. Treatment with laser makes skin a little red and puffy. Electrolysis results in swelling and slightly red skin as well. A few hours are enough for it to gain the usual state again. On the other hand, the results of the unsuccessful electrolysis are scars, infection and hypo- or hyperpigmentation.
The main drawback of the laser hair removal is that this method is the youngest of all. This causes many speculations about its safety. Nevertheless, status Quo is: many people satisfied with the process as well as the results. This method is very promising, that is why nowadays it is a laser technology that is constantly improved.
As for the electrolysis, it would be wrong to say that this is a passed day method. Though, it may soon become, because of the mighty competitor. Anyway, for lots of people, who for some reasons cannot use any other method, it is the only way out for the time being.
I would say that it is good to have not only the right of choice, but the choice itself. So choose what is the most appropriate for you and forget the old fairytale about the hairy beast forever!
