Some time ago we all were covered with the thick hair layer, could not talk and spent time picking bugs out of each others heads. Since then many things have changed. We started doing small and big deeds, developed the civilization and evolved to the smooth-skinned individuals with developed limbs. If I were a savage feminist, I would say not all the human species evolved; if I were a medical specialist, I would explain the facial hair on face of the male with the hormonal effects. But that is given that men have intensively (or not so) growing facial hair and one of the main tools they carry throughout their lives is a razor.
Things are different with women. Happy are those females who have little troubles with the hair all over their bodies. Those are mostly fair-haired women with thin hair. Other females should spend hours working on hair removal in order to achieve smooth skin and this adds some extra items in the females daily care routine. Especially irritating is the facial hair since you cant hide it under any layer of clothing.
The reasons some women have unwanted hair on their face differ. You may inherit it from the females in your family who had thick, dense, dark facial hair; get it as a result of aging process (as women age, the male hormone androgen gets produced in higher amounts and causes an increase in hair growth on the chin, upper cheeks or neck area) or due to the hormonal fluctuations which occur while pregnancy or menopause.
Women fight with the unwanted facial hair in different ways. And the matter of numerous concerns is how to stop the hair grow after the removal. In July, 2000 the medication aimed at slowing the unwanted facial hair growth became available for the consumers. Its name is Vaniqa, a prescription cream applied on the face and nearby involved areas under the chin.
Vaniqas action is based on its active component eflornithine, which slows down enzymes - bodily substances that help hair growth. Vaniqa is not depilatory; it only works by slowing down facial hair growth. The thin layer of the cream is applied to the affected areas at least five minutes after hair removal (shaving, plucking etc.) and thoroughly rubbed in. The treated area shouldnt be washed at least four hours after the procedure. Next application of Vaniqa should be done not earlier than in eight hours. After the medicine has dried, you can put cosmetics or sunscreens on your face.

Some side effects, which include redness, tingling, stinging, burning or follicle irritation, do not need special treatment and soon go away. If they dont thats a reason to see the specialist. It has been noticed, that Vaniqa is especially effective for postmenopausal women. No effects after the six-months treatment is the reason to stop using Vaniqa.
Viniqa should not be used by women who are under 12, are breastfeeding (although, studies have not proved whether this medicine excreted in breast milk), or those who have allergy to eflornithine.
Well, nothing is perfect in this world. And theres no rule that defines how your face should look or should not. Still, women will hardly ever stop working on removing unwanted facial hair. Luckily, they have options!
