How to Live in the World Wrapped in the Cloak of Myths

Living in the world of myths is not that bad, I must say. We all would love spending a couple of minutes/hours/days in it now and again. I’m not saying that all the myths are damaging though. Some myths are pleasure to keep by your side. But some aren’t. Especially those that can damage your psychological or physiological health. Myths of what is considered to be kinda taboo within the society of the grown-ups.

I know, that’s terrible to hear, but some fictions can really lead to very sad things. Like lethal outcome. Death, in a word. Do you want to die because of silly rumors flying in the air? Nope? Read our classification of the most popular myths about men’s sexual health, erectile dysfunction and ways to treat it and follow our advices on it! We are hopeful this will help you to be healthier and happier about your body and sex.

Myth #1 Aging is the thing that causes problems with erection and can eventually lead to erectile dysfunction False True: Getting older isn’t that exciting, people usually think, but really it has its own pluses. Getting older means getting wiser and more tolerant. But getting older also means sexual problems. You are not as strong as you used to be and your penis isn’t that hard? Or probably you don’t have erection any more? It isn’t right to think that aging is the only reason for that. Moreover, aging isn’t the cause of erectile dysfunction. Some doctors say that ED can be caused by some diseases such as hypertension and diabetes or side effects of some drugs but not by the aging itself, they claim.

Myth #2 Failure to have an erection can lead to humiliation from the sex partner False True: Loving partners would never abuse each other and would always be understanding on the issues they meet in their sexual life. Your partner can also suffer from different diseases and psychological problems. That means partners should care of each other no matter what. And if your partner doesn’t want to understand that it is probably not the right person for you.

Myth #3 Erectile dysfunction is a problem of old-aged men only False True: ED is getting younger with the statistics pointing at men of 30-40 facing erectile problems. Generally, the problem occurs among all age groups. A lot of young men also suffer erectile dysfunction. Things like alcohol, methadone, amphetamines, barbiturates, cocaine, marijuana, opiates also contribute to ED.

Myth #4 Men should have hard erection False True: Men can be uptight about the erection. Most men think that losing an erection can lead to the end of the sexual encounter. In fact, loving partners can get pleasure in many ways.

Myth #5 No treatment helps when it comes to ED, you cannot change anything about that False True: ED is also a problem in your head. Some men feel embarrassed to discuss this problem with doctors and the dysfunction often remains untreated. In fact, medical advice is a key factor in resolving the problem.

Myth #6 Erection means that a man is ready for sex Not really True: Men can have erection within the situations that have nothing to do with sex. These non-sexual situations include REM sleep, fear and stress. That means that the erection doesn’t always result from sexual thoughts, desires or dreams.

Myth #7 Erectile dysfunction seldom occurs among men False True: About 30 million men and their partners suffer from chronic ED, statistics says. Moreover, some 90% of all men experience occasional ED. That means most men experience ED now and again.

Myth #8 You must have sex to get pleasure, so men with erectile dysfunction are not ‘real’ men anymore Not at all!! True: There are many ways to get sexual pleasure without an actual sex encounter. Be more open-minded and free and you will definitely be happy with your partner.

Myth #9 Erectile dysfunction decreases interest in sex Mostly not True: Men with erectile dysfunction usually retain sexual desire and the ability to ejaculate. They can also get an orgasm. Physiologically ED is only a problem with erection.

Myth #10 Erection should be automatic Nonsense True: Erection can be automatic, but it shouldn’t. Many men need manual or any other stimulation to get an erection.

There are many myths that mislead us in real-life situations. Some of them are closer to the truth, like the idea that some prescription drugs can contribute to ED. Others, like the myth that tight underwear or riding a bicycle can cause ED, are just silly. Hopefully that we’ll get back to this issue later on and will try to help people find the beam of light in the world wrapped in the cloak of myths.
