While the law in the United States protects the first anti-impotence drug Viagra by patent, not allowing pharmaceutical companies, except for the one that developed such a blockbusting drug, to produce their own generic analogues of the original drug; the generic and, consequently, much cheaper medications with the same working ingredient come from countries, where patent law works in the way different from that of the USA.

So, comparing effectiveness, safety, indications and contraindications of Silagra, it becomes obvious that those aspects are pretty close to those of the original drug Viagra. The major difference between them is that while in the USA legally-approved generic versions of Viagra are expected not earlier than after 2012, Indian pharmaceutical companies have already started the production of their own copies of the original drug, offering it with substantial price discounts.
