For the time being Propecia is one of the most effective remedies to stop baldness and even restart the hair growth. It is no wonder that many people, both male and female, having problems with their hair, are interested in the treatment with Propecia. First of all, let me draw your attention to the fact that Propecia is not recommended only for those women, who are pregnant or may potentially become pregnant. Scientists believe that the main reason of such Propecia influence of unborn children lies in the mode of action of this medication. Namely, Propecia interferes with the hormonal system of human organism and prevents male hormone testosterone from converting into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is blamed for the ability to destroy hair follicles. Consequently, suppressing DHT formation, Propecia promotes the hair growth.

On the other hand, the same hormonal mechanism participates in the normal process of male sex organs formation in the unborn children. It is quite understandable that in comparison to baldness, birth defects are far more serious problems. That is why, Propecia developers as well as the Food and Drug Administration of the USA do not allow use of Propecia by those women, who are or may potentially become pregnant.

Nevertheless, in spite of the possible disappointment with Propecia, women should take in mind that it is not the only opportunity to restore the hair growth.
